Check your mounting surface, fixings and available space to choose the right Lap One accessory for your setup.
1. Identify your mounting surface
Aluminium profile
4040, 4080 and 8080 describe cross-sections of 40 × 40, 40 × 80 and 80 × 80 mm. Profile size alone does not establish compatibility; the slot and fixing details must also match.
Flat mounting plates
Check plate thickness, mounting-hole diameter, centre-to-centre hole spacing and access behind the plate for fixings.
Other mounting surfaces
For tubular frames, desks or custom mounts, check whether the selected accessory has a suitable mounting option.
2. Check the slot and hardware
Slot and T-nut
Check the profile manufacturer’s slot specification and choose a T-nut designed for that profile system. Check how the nut is installed and whether access to the end of the profile is needed.
Thread size
Match the bolt thread to the nut or threaded insert. Slot opening and thread size are different measurements; a slot measurement does not determine the bolt size.
Bolt length
Use the hardware specified for the selected accessory and mounting arrangement. The bolt must accommodate the accessory, washers and mounting surface while providing suitable thread engagement without bottoming out.
3. Check the available space
Installation access
Allow enough room to position the accessory, insert the fixings and reach them with the required tools.
Controls and movement
Check that the accessory will not obstruct controls, cables, seat adjustment or getting into and out of the rig.
Space for everyday use
Allow room for the item the accessory will hold, including lifting it out and putting it back. Check nearby equipment throughout its normal range of movement.
